IAAF World Cross Country Championships Guiyang, China

Posso Sports Eritrean client Nazret Weldu ran an awesome race to finish 11th in the senior women's 8K race, with only Kenyan and Ethiopian athletes of the highest level in front of her, and many 31 minute 10000m runners behind her. And in a nice innovation by the IAAF this year, the placing qualifies her for this summer's 10000m event at the World Athletics Championships to be held in Beijing.

In the junior women's event Eritrea sent a very young team, all athletes under 18 years of age, and the recorded commendable results in their first international outing, with Hibret Debsay 23rd, Bebyat Abraham 36th, Yohana Gezae 39th and Lucia Segid 40th.

In the junior men's event, Eritrean Abraham Habte was the big surprise, moving from 13th to 6th place over the final 2K lap. Not far behind were his Posso Sports team mates Afewerki Berhane in 13th and Mogos Shumay in 14th, with the team taking the Bronze Medals behind Kenya and Ethiopia.

In the senior men's competition, Eritrean Tsegay Tuemay was somewhat disappointed with his 38th place finish and that the team only managed 4th place.
